It is Kamma Vs Kapu fight, not ABN Vs PRP

It is Kamma Vs Kapu fight, not ABN Vs PRP

There is a big fight going on in the state. Though it came to light just 20 hours ago, it has been there for couple of months. It is the fight between two dominant castes in the state, particularly in the coastal districts. The two dominant casts are Kamma and Kapu.

The rivalry between these two castes is about four decades old and it went to the extreme heights when the factionists Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga (Kapu) and Devineni Rajasekhar Nehru (Kamma) fought the battle in Vijayawada. It took political turn with these two becoming MLAs.

Now, the fight continues and it is there with its ugly face. This time it is between twoinstitutions and not individuals. The ABN Andhra Jyothi, which tried to use Praja Rajyam Party in the 2009 elections to beat the common enemy – Congress – is now back hitting hard at the PRP. The PRP too is equally giving a tough fight to the ABN.

Fund crunch and bankruptcy are just the reasons being shown by these warring groups. If funds are the problem, even Telugu Desam seems to be suffering with the same now and it does not become news for the ABN.

If ideas or policies and programmes are the reason for ABN to carry a report, the TD is facing much bigger problem on issues like Telangana, free zone and by-elections to the 12 Assembly seats in Telangana. But, it does not be news for ABN.

As things are like this, does not it look like a war between two castes than two institutions?!
